QuvoRetro Privacy Policy

Developer: Lovato Technologies LLC
Effective date: October 14, 2026
Privacy and support contact: Lovatotechno@gmail.com

This policy describes the Android phone and Wear OS versions of QuvoRetro, including its optional home-screen widget, live wallpaper, and QuvoRetro Clock companion watch face. QuvoRetro creates, stores, displays, and shares QR cards for websites, text, and contact details. You do not need a QuvoRetro account.

Information you enter and store

The app processes the card names, web links, text, and contact details you enter. Contact fields may include a name, company, email address, phone number, and website. The app does not read your device's address book. Card contents are used to create QR codes on your device.

Cards and preferences are stored in app-private storage. Preferences include favorites, Main QR selection, theme, logo choices, language, and synchronization information. The app does not provide its own online account, cloud backup, advertising, analytics, QR tracking, or QR-generation service. Lovato Technologies LLC does not receive your card library through the app.

Phone and watch synchronization

QuvoRetro sends up to eight favorite cards and your Main QR card from your phone to the matching app on your paired Wear OS watch. Main QR is a separate selection and is sent even when that card is not a favorite. Theme, logo, and language choices also synchronize between the paired apps. The watch stores received cards so it can display them while disconnected.

Synchronization uses Google's Wear OS Data Layer service. According to Google's Data Layer documentation, it uses encrypted Bluetooth transport when available and automatically routes data through Google Cloud, with end-to-end encryption, when Bluetooth is unavailable. QuvoRetro does not operate a relay server or receive the contents of these transfers. Google provides the underlying connectivity service under its own terms and privacy policy.

Sharing and QR codes

Anyone who scans or receives one of your QR codes can read its encoded contents. Choose what you include accordingly. Showing a QR code does not make its contents private or encrypted.

If you add the home-screen widget, apply the live wallpaper, or select a watch face using QuvoRetro's Main QR complication, your Main QR can be displayed outside the app. The phone supplies its QR image and card title to the Android launcher for the widget and draws them in the live wallpaper. On the watch, the QuvoRetro app supplies a QR image and a description containing the card title to Wear OS and the selected watch face. QuvoRetro Clock uses this complication to display the QR. Anyone who can see these displays may be able to scan the code. You can remove the widget, change the wallpaper, or change the watch face or complication using your device's controls.

If you choose Share image, the app creates a PNG in its private cache and uses Android's sharing interface to grant the app you choose access to that image. The receiving app and anyone you send it to control their copies. If you choose Copy, the card's encoded text is placed on the system clipboard, where Android's clipboard access rules apply.

Visiting a website encoded in a QR code is governed by that website's practices; QuvoRetro does not control the destination. Google Play and other platform services operate under their own terms and privacy policies.

Retention and deletion

Saved cards stay in app-private storage until you delete them or remove the app's local data. You can delete cards on the phone. Deleting a card or changing favorites or Main QR sends an updated card list to the watch. Unfavoriting the Main QR card does not remove it from the watch: to keep that card on the phone but exclude it from watch synchronization, choose a different Main QR and unmark the former card as a favorite. A disconnected watch may retain an old copy until synchronization succeeds. Reconnect the devices and verify both the watch app and its QR complication before relying on removal there.

When you delete the Main QR card, QuvoRetro selects a remaining favorite, or otherwise a remaining saved card, as its replacement. The widget and live wallpaper use the current Main QR, and the watch complication uses the latest card list received by the watch. Check these displays after a change; device-managed display updates may not be immediate. Remove the widget or change the wallpaper, watch face, or complication if you no longer want a QR displayed there.

Exported or shared QR images and screenshots are separate copies. If you set one of these images as a static wallpaper, that wallpaper is also a separate copy. Editing or deleting the original card does not change or revoke those copies; they may remain until you or their recipients remove or replace them.

Generated sharing images may remain in the app's cache until Android clears the cache or the app's local data is removed. Clearing local data on one device does not remove copies already sent to another app, person, or disconnected paired device. QuvoRetro is configured to exclude its private storage from Android cloud backup and device-transfer backup. There is no QuvoRetro account or developer-hosted card library for us to delete or restore.

Security

The app uses Android's app-private storage and the platform's encrypted phone/watch transport. Local storage is protected by the device's operating system and your device security settings; QuvoRetro does not add a separate encrypted card vault or app password. Protect access to your devices. Do not put secrets in a QR code you intend to show or share.
